Kurt's classes start January 1, 2017

Kurt has spent his professional career committed to innovated entrepreneurship driven by the simple goal of creating healthy, happy humans. Kurt is the co-founder and vision keeper of Simplified Genetics, a health and lifestyle brand that leverages proprietary genetic analysis and premium scientific methodology to deliver clear, useful, actionable genetic information to help people improve their lives. In 2001, he founded American Power Yoga (APY) to bring yoga’s powerful tools to as many people as possible and bridge the paths between yoga and everyday life. Kurt is also a fifth degree black belt, master of the lighting fire mountain system of Tibetan Kung Fu, and avid practitioner of Tibetan Heart Yoga, Tai Chi, Ju Jitsu, Tai Chi Chuan, and Chi Gong.

During this workshop, you will be introduced to a variety of progressive techniques designed to strengthen and mobilize the upper back, neck, chest, shoulders, spine, and core. We will focus on movements that rehabilitate, prevent injury, and build true, functional strength that is transferable to any other sport or movement practice. The only equipment used will be your body weight, the floor, a stick, and a set of gymnastics rings. 

No experience necessary, there will be progressions for all levels!

Finding Your Voice: 100 Hour Teacher Training

This course will offer the study of anatomy, knowledge and experience in the art of adjustments, and includes a comprehensive teaching practicum for sequencing, pacing, and cuing. 

This course is for anyone who has already completed either their first 200 hour training or the Plum 100 hour Module 1 teacher training course. 

This course will help you share your practice effectively and proficiently. You will gain the confidence necessary to direct an effective hour long sequence. 

This is the perfect preparation for anyone looking to gain the experience and knowledge necessary to teach public yoga classes. 

September 16th - December 11th; 100 Hours Total:

  • Monthly Weekend Immersions: 40 hours
  • Homework: 20 hours

Hard Foam Roller Workshop

Hard Foam Rollers are commonly used for both fitness and relaxation. They are effective in relieving tension and tight muscles through myofascial release. Learn how to get similar results of a sports massage without the inconvenience and expense. 

Chelsea has been working with patients using foam rolling techniques to break up muscle tension as a method of physical therapy. Using rolling techniques, she helps people stretch muscles and tendons to effectively break down soft tissue adhesions and scar tissue. Her experience has led to quicker healing times, greater mobility, and tension release. Through this workshop, she will explain how a hard foam roller can become a vital tool in maintaining healthy muscles and increased blood circulation. This workshop is suitable for all ages and levels. Please bring a hard foam roller of any size - there will be limited quantities available at the studio.
